I used a 1998 C1500 booster I got on CL for $25. Came with the MC too (that I may use later).

Yes because if you order an ECE kit it is designed for a 67-72 and it is the one I used, you just have to redrill 2 holes.

Or, you could use one of my booster brackets (no holes to drill) and install a '88-'98 full size truck booster, or a '82-00 S10 booster

i'm not certain on this statement, but I'd make sure you're certain before you buy it - the master cylinder will work, but I THOUGHT that the 67-72 power boosters had a bellcrank mechanism in the linkage between the pedal and booster. Again - don't quote me, but worth running to ground before you shell out $50. No you can't get a "new" setup for $50, but then again, you're not getting a new setup. Personally, I'd shell out the $20 for a new master and the $100 for a new booster - and that way you can pick the booster you want that you know will work (i.e. ref CaptFab's application page). But, if you're lucky, the $50 one will fit AND work.

Personally I would go with new. You have no way of knowing if will work or for how long. Brakes are the most inportant part of your truck. $50.00 is just about the halfway mark for a new set up and your not risking your life or anyones elses. The proportioning valve you can use used from a salvage yard and you can also get the rod that goes from the booster to the pedal. Buy the bracket from CaptianFab. Do it in sections next buy the booster then the M.C.. Unless the guy can tell you how old the parts are. If they are 1967 LOL not worth it.

You could use the 68 but you have to modify the arm that attaches to the brake pedal. I think it needs to be longer and that is just a pain in the butt. I would get a newer one and use the bracket if it is easier. I have a late model power brake booster but have not mounted it. I think I got it out of a 92.
Capt. will your bracked work for that year model booster also?

I used a older reman vac booster that is flatter than some I have seen, (impala) then used a 88 master cylinder reman out of a burb to get front and rear split, then used the proportioning valve from the 88 burb to go front to rear. did have to modify the rod that connects the pedal and vac booster, some all thread and 2 clevises. Worked good for me. Kieth
