fan not centered??

im in the process of either puttin electric fans or shroudin and extending my mechanical...one thing i just noticed though, my fan now is no where near centered in the radiator. it sits in the bottom of the radiator, the top of the fan blade is in the center of the radiator..so almost 1/4 to 1/2 of my radiator is ot being cooled..my motor looks like its sitting too low looking at other pictures of engine bays..why would this be...wrong motor mounts?? it looks as if the motor should be two to three inches up more.

Re: fan not centered??

Clamp a board to the bottom of the cross member, sticking out under the crank pulley, and measure up to the center line of the crank. My original 283 sat 11" from the bottom of the cross member to center line of the crank.
