gas gauge sending wire help.

Hello all, I have a 1966 chevy c10 with a gas tank behind the seat. I am trying to figure out where I connect the brown gas gauge wire coming off the tank. Do I connect it to the fuse block where it says "gas ext"? Thanks

that wire should go to the guage. the guage will get its power from the fuse block

61 is correct, just want to add there are 2 terminal posts on the back of the fuel gauge. that brown wire from the sending unit connects to the terminal post closest to the radio.

The guys are right about how it works. But the brown wire does go to the fuse block where it is marked gas gage. It is not a power connection, just a junction. There is a wire on the other side that goes up to the gage. (According to the shop manual and how my truck is wired). Assumes you are using the stock harness etc.

Yes I bought original wiring. I also bought a wiring diagram for it, but it is hard to understand exactly. I think I found the correct spot i'll post after follow your guys advice. Thanks for the help.

Did you get it figured out? Im in the same boat with the fuel gauge not working. The previous owner cut the brown sending wire from the tank and there was no wires connected to the back of the fuel gauge.

The brown wire on my 63 runs from the tank to the fuse box. FYI... Thx...Kevin

Thanks, I have all the gauges working so far. I just need to install the copper oil pressure line and everything will work.
