Re: no 4 wheel drive please help

If the lights are blinking, the TCCM (Transfer Case Control Module) could have stored a trouble code.

Have you attempted to retrieve trouble codes from the TCCM?

If a Transfer case motor position sensor code has been set, the TCCM reverts to a default mode in which only 2HI and 4LO are possible.

If you clear the code it may be able to shift into 4 high until it sets a code again.

You should try shifting it to 4Low and see is it can complete the shift to 4 low and engage the front axle. Whether or not it can shift to 4 low will help to determine where the problem is.

Re: no 4 wheel drive please help

So did it make it into 4Lo and did the front axle engage?

Did you shift it back to 2 Hi and did it make it back to 2 Hi?

Re: no 4 wheel drive please help

There is an electrical switch on the transfer case next to the shift motor.

If the transfer case does not shift into 4WD, the switch will not be actuated.

If that switch has failed, even if the transfer case shifts into 4WD, the front axle actuator will not get power.

Check all the wiring.

If you are sure the transfer case has shifted, you could jump the switch and see if the front axle actuator gets power.

Re: no 4 wheel drive please help

The switch for the front axle actuator is by the transfer case shifting motor on the front side of the T-case.

The part you are probably looking at by the tail shaft is the vehicle speed sensor.

Re: no 4 wheel drive please help

Yes; that looks like the transfer case switch.

There are so many things that can cause no 4WD.

I don’t suggest throwing parts at it.

You should sit down with a manual and start testing to see where there is power. It could be a fuse, broken wire, bad connector, bad switch, or a problem that the transfer case is not moving the switch.

Does power make it to the T-Case switch?
