switching hoods
Does a 1960 or 61 chevy or gmc hood bolt right on my 62 gmc? I couldn't find a post on this, or maybe over looked. Thanks for any info.

Re: switching hoods
Not sure on the Chevy hoods, but the GMC 60-61 have different latches than the 62-66's.

Re: switching hoods
Any 60-66 Chevy or GMC hood will work correctly on any 60-66 Chevy or GMC pickup truck or suburban, so long as the compatible hood latch is used. There are two different styles of hood latch (the mechanism that bolts on the hood). The release handle on the early 60-61 style points down while handle on the 62-66 style points to the driver side.
Here are photos of the two types: 1960-61: 1962-66: Last edited by markeb01; 07-10-2011 at 01:42 AM. |
