AC Compressor

Last fall the AC in my truck worked fine... but I probably only ran it for an hour or two because it was cold after I got my truck back from being painted. Then over the winter I took the belt off of it.
Now that I have hooked the compressor back up its wanting lock up and then turn again.... which is burning up the belt. So I took it back off. What is causeing this?

with the belt off tur the compressor over and feel for any catches in movement. then do the same with the clutch. if its catchin, unplug the a wire and see if that helped... if not youll need a new clutch.
