Short bed BB Super Project Parts

I have decided to just build a driver for now due to budget and time restrictions.....so I'm selling my big block super project and will be listing many of the NOS parts I have for it on here and on ebay.

Starting off with the frame, cab, and doors.

Dantip has first dibs on the cab and doors. It does need work still around the lower cowl areas, a small spot in the floor, the cab supports, and under the cowl vents. Also under the rear window there will need to be a patch.

I have a clear title, the original spid, and the vin plate proves this was a big block equipped truck. Also has the bucket seat supports underneath, the high hump, heat shield, headliner, cargo light, and is an A/C cab. SPID shows this was originally a LWB truck.

Driver's door is the original 72 door with a good inner bottom edge but rust on the outer skin at the bottom. Has the original vin sticker on the door.

Passenger door is a perfect 72 rust free door I got from out in AZ and was blasted. Extra mirror holes were welded up.

Asking 1000 for the cab with the doors

Frame is a Short wheel base 5 lug roller frame. Was cleaned up and painted by the PO. He painted over everything. Gloss black and it has scratches from being moved so I'd recommend a re-spray. Has a 373 posi rear (factory). Leaf spring rear. The upper balljoints are the originals (riveted in) so I assume everything else is also. Comes with a roller set of tires with 15" rally wheels (no caps or rings)

roller frame with the posi rear SOLD.

See link in my signature for a ton of pictures.

WHAT?
Why not just build these parts into a nice driver?

Time mostly. I want to find a complete truck that's either running or just needs an engine/tranny (I have a 355/350 waiting for it)

This one is completely torn down other than the cab with new bushings sitting on the frame...

I actually sold it locally today....sorry, he's bought from me before and came looking at my other frame, saw this, and handed me cash for it. Still have a bare swb frame and 5 lug front and rear...

Re: Short bed BB Super Project Parts

I have a lot of other parts that COULD go with it as part of a package deal including TH400 linkage and frame mount, BB heat shield (I have a second one), a TH400 with torque converter, and a 402 big block motor complete intake to oil pan that was rebuilt recently and has an upgraded cam.

Re: Short bed BB Super Project Parts

I also have a complete short bed with gate for 200....obviously for this price it needs a lot of work...but would be good for a rat rod or a starting point to repair. Gate is actually nice other than a rectangular spot at the bottom that had rust but was cut out. Straight and all hardware.

And I have all the big block bracketry, air cleaner, etc...

....and rust free sandblasted 69-72 front fenders that are PERFECT for 600/pr

...and an NOS driver's side door with one minor dent in it for 850 plus shipping.

...a bare shortbed frame with all crossmembers including 2wd front for 350

...a 5 lug front and rear setup for 250

Re: Short bed BB Super Project Parts

I sold my nicest ones. I have some that are definitely saveable...but have some rust in them. The mounting areas that are gone many times under the battery are good. They have rust in different areas. I'd take 50 for the pair.

I'll take the inner fenders. Can you send me pics of the bad areas? Let me know when you need me to pick them up by, I'm in no rush.

Re: Short bed BB Super Project Parts

sorry I missed the responses...the frame and short bed are sold and gone. I just have the cab and doors now. Having camera issues...hope to have the inner fender pics soon...

Cab with doors for 1000...

....keep in mind this is an A/C, bucket, high hump, cargo light, headliner, 72 cab. Not perfect but overall very nice and restorable. Will make a great project truck for someone with more time.

Cab without doors for 600. Again...also includes the title, vin plate still attached, and the SPID sheet with a cheyenne super glovebox door. And I have more parts I can include as part of a package deal for someone interested including an A/C setup, BB parts, etc etc....

Re: Short bed BB Super Project Parts

I'm asking 750 for it. It was rebuilt recently and a performance cam added. It is a car block though...not a truck block...came from a full size It's the high performance version....CLB = 396 (402) Auto tranny, high performance 300hp/ SS Super Sport

Here's the info I found on it http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=467847

Have you had it running or heard it run?

No, I purchased from a good friend who I trust though and he pulled it from a chevelle and said it ran great. The intake is currently loose as it had an edelbrock and he kept that and gave me a factory style intake.

ttt...I will work on putting the intake on and getting the engine on a test stand because I realize that will make it easier to sell. I'll probably also strip and repaint it at that point so the price will go up....

Re: Short bed BB Super Project Parts

Va,
It is the surface rust on the lifters (at least it looks like rust in the pics)that has me worried and not the paint. Do you have a time frame on how long it has been setting? Thank you very much for taken the time to play 50 ? with me.

Tony

Re: Short bed BB Super Project Parts

Not a problem. ask as many ?'s as you want

I have had the engine for around 4 months and it was sitting in my friends shop for 3 months before that. I am having camera issues but as soon as I borrow a camera or get this one fixed I will take better pictures. I know there is surface rust on the gasket surface of the intake and headers but I think the lifters were still oily and not surface rusted the last time I looked at them (which was after this picture)

I will turn it over by hand this weekend when I get some time to make sure it's all still moving freely.
