Question Headlights & Dash Problems

Thanx in advance for all of the help.
My problems are
1.When my headlights are on dim the high beam indicator light is on and when in high it's out.
2.All of my dash lihjts are out.
3.Also,as you would've figured my fuel gauge is off big time.

I tried to fix with a new headlight switch a new dimmer switch and checked the ground on the back of bezel.
So as you can tell I'm very confused at this moment.
Again THANX for everyones help.
LARRY

How did you check your ground?....cause it sounds as if your dash is not grounded. I had similar problems and it was the ground. On my 72 the ground was a cheesy clip that was just clipped on the metal on the dash. I cut it off and replaced it with a ring terminal and a machine screw...no more problems

Make sure you have a good ground for the headlights on the top passenger side of core support. Take that bolt out and sand it real good. That fixed mine.

Thanks for the ideas so far guys. He had checked the ground last night , it was a good. Someone else suggested that maybe from sitting a mouse or something gnawed on a wire in the dash and its shorting out. (the truck sat for about 3 years before he started working on it again) He is at the swap meet in Charlotte or he would reply himself ( and Im home with the kids jealous )
