Timming Help - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Trying to time my kids 87 tbi,Start the truck and unplug the advance wire to set base at 0 and the truck stalls!I think I am unplugging the correct wire its next to the brake booster and is tan with a white stripe,Its the only single wire I can find.Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
