What are you using for a GAS PEDAL

He hot rod guys. What are you using for a gas pedal (mechanical)? Was thinking about a firewall mount or a floor mount. Not sure which way to go. Pictures, pros, cons, other issues? What have you learned that we can learn from you?

Thanks

Re: What are you using for a GAS PEDAL

I went with the Lokar floor mount with my 53. Super easy install. I've never had a problem with it. It was kind of expensive, however, I'll most likely buy another for my 59.

Re: What are you using for a GAS PEDAL

Some modified piece of junk out of a car that I junked out years ago. Too ugly to take any photos of but it worked for a lot of miles.

In the past I had a bad case of making what I had available at the time work and wasn't too willing to go out and buy aftermarket pieces if I could modify an existing piece.

Thanks for the contributions. Doesn't any one else use a gas pedal around here?

Re: What are you using for a GAS PEDAL

I'm using the stock gas pedal and linkage. Works just fine and I like the look of the linkages and stuff.

Re: What are you using for a GAS PEDAL

I merged a "92" firewall and floor in my 55, so the stock pedal and cable fit in its stock location. That style truck hs a floor mount pedal.

Re: What are you using for a GAS PEDAL

57 chevy auto pedal, pivots thru the firewall and uses a rod to the carb. I sold the pedal out of my 74 donor truck to a rodder. It bolts to the fire wall on the inside with a pull cable thru the FW to the carb.

Re: What are you using for a GAS PEDAL

I'm using the pedal out of the s10 that donated most of the parts for my build. 3 bolts through the toeboard, and uses the stock s10 throttle cable.
