Hello all, new to the forum

Hello,
I'm just new to the forum, I've had my '72 3/4 4x4 for a couple of years as a project driver, I purchased it from Grandjunction, Colorado and drove it to Cascade Colorado without a glitch, got into a white out coming through Vail had to use four wheel drive for about four hours.
We relocated to Biloxi, Mississippi this month and it made that drive without a glitch as well with around a 1000#'s of our stuff on the back, I did do a good bit of preventative maintenance before the trip, the truck is pretty much stock with a small block, four speed and 4:10 gears with 32" allterrain tires, I did install a new suspension (4" lift) last year, didn't burn a drop of oil and the oil was still clean after the trip, I believe the engine must have been rebuilt at some time prior to my ownership.
I've been well pleased with my purchased
I joined this forum in hopes of getting a little help with ideas for the project, I'll be looking into some ideas on replacing the stock bench seat, thinking about installing a late model bench with a fold down armrest, not sure where to start or what models to start looking far to get a good fit, any help would be appreciated.
Going to be installing new body bushings soon, as well as a set of hooker headers with new 2 1/2" pipes, I haven't decided on what mufflers to run yet, don't want it to loud but a nice purr
I'll be pulling my 30' travel trailer (6600 #'s dry) it pulls it very good now, but I may be installing a few power adders later on such as cam, heads, carb etc.
I'll get some pictures up when I can upload them, I'm in a hotel in Rio, Brazil and the internet sucks.

Jeff

Re: Hello all, new to the forum

Great looking truck and trailer.

Looks like you need a load leveler hitch setup and maybe a drop hitch.

Re: Hello all, new to the forum

Thanks for the welcome and coments.
The truck sets a little high in the front, I do have the load leveler installed, I need to install a new set of body mount bushings, and could use more drop hitch so that I can install my 35" tires.

Colorado to Biloxi, MS....culture shock. I've been to CO and I don't remember any heat index warnings.....but, I can guarantee you that you will have them in MS, as well as the monsoonal rains that accompany the outflows from hurricanes. I was stationed at Keesler, for 10 months. We had to march in the rain, wade through water that was waist high and that was just to get back to the barracks after school.

But, I digress: from the Heart of Arkansas! Sounds like you have a nice, dependable truck.

Hope we're an asset to you and your experiences with it.

Thumbs up Re: Hello all, new to the forum

Welcome from NorCal! Looks like a clean, straight truck, and it's great to see 'em being used the way they were intended to be!

Re: Hello all, new to the forum

I personally like the Magnaflow magnapack muffler. Not too load at idle and cruising speed but when you push it hard it has a nice rumble.
