Door mirror gasket ?
I am getting ready to put the door mirrors back onto the truck and was wondering what to use between the door and the stainless mirrors so i do not damage the paint and did anyone use riv nuts to attach them.

Re: Door mirror gasket ?
Rivet nuts would be better than just screws. I'm using them in lots of places like sill plates, mirrors, moldings, fire ext bracket, .......

Re: Door mirror gasket ?
I'm in the same boat having just painted my rusty mirror arms as a temporary measure until I decide in the future on what new mirrors to use. I was going to buy some self adhesive closed cell foam strip to use under the brackets. (mine are tripod type mirrors so theres three brackets to go on) I'd not thought about using riv-nuts, I was just going to bolt them through with stainless nuts and bolts but riv-nuts would mean I don't have to faff about taking off the door panels to fit them.
