Rad Hoses
I have searched & searched this forum without finding an answer to by problem so I guess it is time to ask. I have a 63 Chevy that I have swapped the 6 cyl 3sp manual for a 454 700r4. I am using a V8 rad in the stock V8 location. What have you other guys done for radiator hoses. I don't want to run the acordian style or the stainless ribbed universal hose if possible. Just want to run plain rubber upper & lower hoses. Any help out there??

Re: Rad Hoses
Make a template out of a wire coat hanger and go to Canuck tire or Lordco and find one that matches what you need. Measure the hose flange size too. Also maybe search at KMS Car Parts.

Re: Rad Hoses
I believe hat the rad hoses from 64 to 72 are all the same for the V8 models big block small block if you are using the stock style radiator, here is a pic of mine, you`ll need the temp housing that sort of points to the left front corner of the motor. [IMG][/IMG]

I do have the thermostat housing that points to the left corner. The reason I am asking is that I got upper & lower hoses that are listed for a big block in the 68-72 truck & they do not fit. The upper I got does not look like yours so now I am wondering if the guy at the parts store looked up the hoses correctly. Last edited by eddie1; 07-16-2011 at 08:27 AM. Reason: poor grammer |

Re: Rad Hoses
Are you running the short water pump or the long one? You might see if you can get hoses for a '66-'67 Chevelle or Impala with a big block. They use the same style radiator. When I built my big block Suburban with a short water pump, I just went to my local NAPA and they let me search thru their wall of hoses. I was able to find a couple of hoses that I could cut down and make work. I saved the numbers, but that was about 18-19 years and several moves ago. I don't have a clue where they are ATM.
