Window sweep issue...who has good ones? Help needed!

Im out of town and hanging at a buds house. I cant post pictures but I will when I get home. We went to replace his inner and outer window sweeps with some that he bought from LMC. I should have checked them before I pulled the old ones out. When we went to snap in the first new OUTER one we noticed that there is absolutely NO lip on the outer part of the outer sweep. The original one has about a 1/8th inch lip on the outside that is supposed to drape or somewhat seal or roll over the edge of the door. These do NOT. They have NO LIP AT ALL. Now it would not normally be an issue but we have a paint/tape line from the last paint job that we really need to hide.

1)Does anyone know if any vendors sell these sweeps that are correct replacements with a lip on both sides of the outer sweep

2) or...Does anyone have a good condition used original outer sweep. We need the passengers side but will take both sides.

Re: Window sweep issue...who has good ones? Help needed!

Had the same issue with LMC wipes. I found some NOS. I think next time I'm at a parts yard I will look at and measure wipes from other cars/trucks. Would be great to find wipes that have a 1/4 to 3/8 lip for more water sealing to keep water out of the door.

I don't even drive in the rain...but just for washing the truck!

Re: Window sweep issue...who has good ones? Help needed!

Here are some close ups of the old one and the LMC one. The outer lip of the outer sweep is 1/2 the size of the original one. I neew sweeps with a large outer lip as wide or wider than the old one.

Re: Window sweep issue...who has good ones? Help needed!

LMC's are horrible to say the least. Before joining this board I bought NOS ones on ebay, and they of course fit like a glove, but were very pricey. Seeing that Wes and GMCPaul carry the correct ones, I will buy from one of them next time.

Great to know....One of the great things about our trucks is the wide array of parts....and that they are improved.

I look at it the other way, that it is terrible that so many people sell parts that are not correect...

Re: Window sweep issue...who has good ones? Help needed!

I got a set from GMC Paul's last fall and they seemed to be quite close to the originals. One side will not stay locked down but that may be due to the door. I bought the channels, sweeps, and rubber seals, all seemed very good quality.
