Buzzer

I was wondering if the buzzer went off if you left your lights on and had a door opened? My neighbor has an '87 that does that. It looks like in some of the elecrical diagrams that there is a wire going to the drivers seat belt. Is this true? My buzzer only works intermittently with the seat belt thing. Leaving the key in doesn't work unless you push on the key. Ignition Cylinder is jacked-up. My buzzer only works every other day it seems. I kinda like it. Better than my friends Dodge that has 3 NOISY!!!

Mine only worked with the seatbelt and I unhooked it long ago.

I have a old 1981 service manual that shows the headlight buzzer system. It must have been a option.

Here you go,
I just shot them with my camera, I hope thats' okay.
The manual doesn't have much on it but there really isn't anything to it anyway. These buzzers fail pretty quick 'cause the electromagnet in them wears out the coil.
JC Whitney sells them for around $5.00

It must be optional - I don't have anything hooked up to LPS. Nothing that looks like that - just relays. Guess I don't have one. I'll have to find the wire that comes from the headlight switch.

BTW: What does LPS stand for? I have all those extra sockets for power labeled: WDO, IGN, ACC, PWR, and something else. What do all these do? (I know that ACC is power for accesories).

Your quite welcome there!
LPS means Lamps
WDO means Windows (They work, so it has nothing to do with Bill Gates!!)
IGN is ignition
ACC is various options that differ through the years and models.
PWR is the same thing as ACC in the service manual.

I know the name of them but what do they do? What the heck does the lamps do? Does it turn off after a certain time or something? I guess they all just are power on different fuses. I pretty sure PWR is hot all the time.

LMP on our trucks powers the dome lamp, cargo lamp, and guage lamps. I am not sure but I don't think the headlights or tailights go through it.
That fuse lead has no time delay circuits built into it as far as I know. That wouldn't make sense.
PWR should be hot at all times (until a fusible link goes that is).

Check your owner's manual. It would tell you more about these
fuses and their use. If you don't have one then they can be ordered for cheap from the local Chevy dealer.
There is just too much difference in trucks for me to tell you much about yours.
