just saw a rare steering column...

Fellow member had a tilt column with factory cruise for sale. The column had a lever for the cruise. Very interesting.

Re: just saw a rare steering column...

Was the cruise handle black or Chrome? If it was black, it wasn't our era factory cruise and may have been a van tilt out of the 73-up. Trevor

Re: just saw a rare steering column...

Sold now lol

In my Grande Sierra right now but I'll probably have the truck stripped this week hopefully. It's the factory option but the it has the black knob that says cruise not the chrome knob but it has the chrome handle. All the wiring is still connected and I can hear the cruise kick in but I have no idea how well these old trucks did with cruise control lol

Pretty sweet truck. The 402 was rebuilt with a few speed goodies and sounds nice. Don't know it's current HP or anything but I may tear it down and build it back up and have it dyno'd. Fast truck though, so I sold my 350 in my '72 and I'm putting the 402 in the Blazer now The only thing missing for options in this truck was the A/C.

Re: just saw a rare steering column...

I don't think it was available until 1970. My old man has a 1970 C10 with the factory cruise control in it. Even listed on the SPID in the glovebox.

Re: just saw a rare steering column...

This first SPID is from a 70 - the second was said to be from a 68 - It is a CST with a 157 inch wheelbase and "Camper Nameplate".
I don't know enough about the VIN to tell what it is.

I sell my stuff locally usually. Had five guys ask for it today and it sold first thing this morning. I'm sure there's more of these down in Cali though. A lot more trucks in the States compared to here so rare options like these we don't see too often up here.

Steve, to answer your question, no, that isn't the correct chrome lever. That is a buick cruise lever. Trevor
