i need to know REALLY quick the firering order on sbc

whats my firering order on my sbc and what one is #1 im trying to get it timed tonight so i can have it running by tomorrow thanks!

#1 would be the cylinder on the front of the drivers side, then 3, 5, and 7... then on the passanger side its 2-4-6-8.. to time it, get number 1 to TDC compression (put your finger over the spark plug hole and leave it there untill air blows it off) then sit the distributor in with the tab on the rotor button pointing to #1.... it will turn slightly when its going down, so point it almost towards #3, it'll turn to point at #1 when it goes down... then start wiring from the terminal thats above the tab on the rotor button (with that being #1 wire)

thanks a bunch guys, got it timed and put my plug wires in tonight, tomorrow gotta hook up alternator and some wires and it should be running!

Smoky Yunick's sbc was 18327654 odd,even etc. back in the 70's had a sound like a banchee and ran like a raped ape until the motor was banned from sancioned racing. DA GRUMP had some tricks up his sleeve too.

Damn i'm gettin old.
