I am wanting to buy or trade for an original GM 8 Track player for my 70 and would like to trade on a few items i have

I have a almost NOS 71-72 style Cruise Control that is all complete and also have a NOS GM AM radio face plate with perfect chrome as we all know that pitting was a big issue. I will get pictures later on tomorrow but just show me what you have! I am in need very badly of one of these as it is the last item i need for my resto.

These are very hard to find and seldom come up for sale. I had two GM 8 tracks and sold one for $250 a few months ago which was low but this forum has been good to me so it was a chance to pay it forward. Be patient and eventually one might come up but know that these can go as high as $500.

Which version are you looking for? If looking for the model with GM on the tape deck door, you will have a long search. The version with a bowtie on it is much easier to find, just keep a eye out on ebay. I have had two of the the GM versions (still have one), traded the other for some other rare parts, you might contact HuggerCST and see if he still has the one he got from me- keep in mind speakers harness etc are even harder to locate than the player so you are looking at dropping serious coin. I just recently bought NOS speakers and have the correct harness in route as we speak. Good hunting.

took me 10 years to find mine and worth every minute of ther wait. There is a guy on Ebay reproducing the wiring harness'. Myy not be 100% correct color wiring and so on but will work for the stock look.

I may be wrong but...I read that the Chevelle speakers are very similar if not the same as the truck kick panel speakers and I think they might be reproduced??? Then again…what do I know

The chevelle speaker grilled are very close to the truck ones. I have a set of 4x6 speakers that are now in a perfect box and an amp and wiring harness just need the 8 track player

There is an early camaro/truck 8 track with bowtie on ebay with buy it now of $165 or so. Contact 70 cst to be sure this is correct for your application as the 71-72 unit has only gm marked on the tape door. hope this helps. Search ebay motors -8 track player- unit is located in georgia

As extensive as my build is ive been trying to stay true to the originality of the parts that I have put on my truck and would like to have an original (to my truck) 8 track player. Like I said in previous posts im ready to buy one if someone would offer one up for sale.

I am confident one will eventually show up. Might take a while. As mentioned prices will run $200-500 depending on shape and how bad one wants to let one go. In my GM books it shows three different 8 Tracks but I believe the correct one is the one wth a GM door. I agree with a previous statement that you might have to publish what you are willing to pay for a GM 8 Track or offer a finders fee. This 8 Track is not that common and most who have these are not willing to let one go. So do you have your GM CB radio?
