what is max lift and still successfully pull a loaded trailer?
Just trying to decide between a 4 inch lift and 35's or a 6 inch and 37's with my 68 swb running 52 inch springs. we have a 24ft tilt bed trailer and will pull cars/ pallets of seed on occasion.
Thanks, David |

Re: what is max lift and still successfully pull a loaded trailer?
Over the years I've had both 4" with 33-35's and 6 - 8" with 38's to 44's and have towed cars, boats and trailers full of rock ect. I will say that my tolerance for the "pucker factor" that the 6" and up lifts can produce while towing (and sometimes when not towing) has decreased. 4" and 35's are my limit now. It all depends on your limit and driving ability.

gotcha, i figured geometry wise the 4/35 combo would be the absolute max but thought i would check.
THanks! |

4 with 35"s is a good setup for pulling a trailer. If you have a gooseneck it will still fit in there with no mods. My buddy pulls a gooseneck wit 39.5 pitbull rockers and we had to chop his trailer up so that he could do so.

Re: what is max lift and still successfully pull a loaded trailer?
depends on what ur pulling and the terrain.
Just because the truck will pull it dont mean u should. U have to consider emergency case senarios, lifted with a swaying trailer will never be good. either way, stay short and light. u wont find any writen specifications, all manufacturers are gonna say not to tow with a lift. |

I frequently tow a trailer, often with a total trailer weight of 8k+, with my K20, which is lifted 6" and runs on 35x12.5s. Tows and stops just fine (with trailer brake controller, of course).

I agree with maskale basically any truck can tow but you gotta set the limit on your weight also trailer sway is a nightmare I almost lost my first suburban because of it and we ended up across the road which was from how it was loaded and that can make the biggest difference towing and for lift kit towing depending on the lift and the weight and if the truck is 1/2 3/4 or 1 ton
