Re: 255-70-15 heigth tires

I don't know the height of my tires offhand but I have a 2 1/2-4 drop and 235/70 15 on front and 255/70-15 on rear.I think these pics may show the stance.

My 255/70R15 measures at 28". Add a smidge for brand new ones. Winston Winner GT tires, whatever those are. I bought them used. I used 255/60R15 on the front.

Re: 255-70-15 heigth tires

Knowing what all the numbers mean allows you to figure this out whenever you need it. It is close but not exact because of differing tire construction.

For example, a 255 70 15:

Section width is 255 mm, converted to inches, 255mm divided by 25.4 mm/in or call it 10 inches.

Aspect ratio is 70% of the section width, or 7".

Double the aspect ratio for the bottom and top of the tire which is 14 inches.

Add 14 inches to rim diameter of 15 inches and you have a 29" tall tire.

2nd that, a 255/70/15, is 29" tall....it also fits good on an 8" wide wheel. I run 225/75's up front on 6 1/2" rallies(that one goes 28" & some change)....crazyl
