51 chevy door latches
I am looking for a door latch for a 51 chevy truck. The owner ordered one that looked right from the out side, but it wasn't. I will attach some pictures of the one I'm looking for. any help would be appricated, Thanks BUD

Welcome from SO. Arizona.
That looks like a 53-4-5 door latch. You know with a bit of hardface on that latch and worked with a grinder that one will last for another 50 years, clean it up peen down the rivets and lube it, you may find your old one better than what you find on the market, just say'n it works for me!

thanks, I try to give as much info as possible. If what you has works I would clean it up and use it. I have found very few repo pieces that work as well even when compared to used original. When Gm was ordering 250,000 or something the vendor could afford to tighten up the tool and dies to get them right. Lots of repo is based on worn out used parts with sloppier tolerences. I looked hard for a good set of door regulators after seeing the quality of repos 15 years ago, maybe they are better now, but the ones I ordered then had more play than my 250K mileage ones.
