Wow!!! I didn't realize how what a pain it would be to get a replacement throttle cable for my truck. I have a '71 c10, 292 6 cyl., 4 spd trans. and I need a thottle cable. The carb end is a female "ball" type. My carb is a Rochester Mono Jet 1 barrel.

Here are my questions:

1. Are the cables for the small block applications the same as the 6 cyl. cables?
2. Are the 6 cyl. cables shorter?
3. Where can I buy the exact cable I need (I really don't want Lokar unless its really necessary)?

I know I could probably make another cable work but I really want the exact item if possible.

I'd even settle for used but I don't know what to look for at this point.

I have to bet the cable would be the same length. Carb would be right in the middle of the engine compartment for both. Its just an estimated guess....I run the mechanicle linkage with 250/230.

Lets go ttt with it and get the experts opinions!

Hey Wes, that p/n given is showing for 71-2 W/250-6, my book has 71-2 all w/292-6 as being p/n 6264930. Mel

Yup, but I couldn't locate one for the 292 and the 250 should work.
