Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

If the rearend is flipped it's probably a 4"-5" If not then I would guess a 3"-4"
Whichever it sits real good. Looks like a solid truck.

Flip kit yes or no??? Not sure why we are playing this retarded game. Look underneath, does the rear diff sit above or underneath the leafs????

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

I'm just saying who in their right mind would lower a truck 4 inches in the back??? That would involve taking out leaves plus drop shackles. It would be a lot easier to go with a flip kit. Certain companies offer anywhere from a 4.5 to 5.5 rear flip. Nobody in their right mind would go through the trouble of installing drop shackles removing leafs to get a 4 inch drop in the rear unless they had specific plans for the truck. If the previous owner did lower it through drop shackles and removing leafs, please do me a favor, call him and ask him "wtf is wrong with you???" Asked by stepper562....!!!

But then again, what the hell do I know???

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

Post #4, he says it's not flipped. Sounds like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

I just did an axle flip this afternoon and mine sits lower than that. Whatever it is, it looks damn good.

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

Don't get me wrong bud looks gorgeous but so does any pos c10 to me I'm just sayin why go through the headaches of a 4 inch drop in the rear when you can get a flip kit for 80 bucks that will lower it 4.5 inches which the difference isn't noticeable and be done with in 2hrs. My opinion which really doesn't matter cause my post count in under 100...the PO is a retard.

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

To be clear, there are no; drop spindles, drop shackles, drop control arms, flip kit, or and parts of ANY KIND, the previous owner x2 cut the springs and did something janky to the rear, I need to know how low it sits, and 3 4 seems to be the general consensus

Also the guy that lowered it did so in the 90's so I'm not too surprised lol

Good luck.

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

Hey brother you posted I'm return to help guess my help isn't needed Mr gsxr. Find out what that "janky" stuff is he did, what ever that means then maybe we can help out.

It could be stock shackles moved up on the frame plus leafs taken out...that's the only "janky job I can think off.

Anyway good luck.

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

looks close to what mine did with a cut coil, drop shackles and 3 leafs reaming in the leaf spring pack, I should of left it this way with a 5-7 it would bottom out on every bump in the road and high center on most parking lot entrances

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

Thanks, I appreciate the help, I still need to decide whether to redo the po's work (which in the rear is still unknown to me) or modify it to suit my own goals.

Re: how low do you guys think my truck is?

Why do you need to know your current drop? Are you going to buy a kit to drop it more?

Yes my plan is to buy drop spindles for the front and as soon as I figure out what has been done to the rear work out a plan to lower it as well. My problem isn't a lack of technical knowledge so much as not knowing the current situation my truck is in because my only references are those I find on here are google
