drop control arms what are they for?

i havent bought them for my 84 c10 yet... the guy let me borrow them to see if they will fit but there isnt a shock mount and there isnt a sway bar mount. i was looking through another thread and a guy had some that didnt have sway bar mounts on them either.

im just wondering what i have heres a pic

That's a drop pocket style a-arm.
I just don't know what the application is.
Did it come with any cross shafts?
The hole in the spring pocket plate makes it look like the shock is internal to the coil spring.
They won't work with drop spindles.
They won't work on your '84 either.

Why would you say that? They have the same shock mounting place and the same bumpstop mount and the same third hole, whatever that is for, just because the tubes are bent differently doesn't mean they don't have the same final measurements.

I was referring to the "V" shaped support bar behind the spring pocket plate, the shape of the balljoint plate, and the lack of the steering stop, that yours have.

So you think newer? The guy that owns them is a hardcore chevy guy, and the paper work he has says gm full-size, but that's it

I think You misunderstood me and I Did the same, I know they arent the "same" what I meant was they are for the same truck just different manufacturers

Sorry bout this but I didn't mention they are stsuspensions, because that company hasn't made chevy parts in a while, they are older, do they look compatable with bags? I'm going to give them back I'm just curious now

Those are definately not 73-87.Wrong bumpstop, shock, and sway bar mount.
