Are these the right taillight brackets?
Hey all, I have been looking for some after-market taillight brackets for the 47-52 chevy trucks.
I've seen a couple of them on some trucks at car shows... They attach behind the rear stake pockets instead of in front like the original brackets. They provide a much cleaner look and also eliminate the bulky left hand license plate bracket that to me makes things a little messy. Anyways, this is all that I could find..... http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=CTLB300 Anyone able to confirm? Anyone know what I'm talking about?? |

Re: Are these the right taillight brackets?
Original from the facotry was one stop/tail light with a plate hanger on it. Turn signals and dual stop/tail lights would have been added on later so those will work but not era correct they are different than the original accessory add ons.
This is what would have been on the truck http://www.classicparts.com/1947-53-...ctinfo/49-511/ |

Re: Are these the right taillight brackets?
I got a piece of steel tubing and welded a tab to match the tail light bolt pattern and then another tab to match the lower two stake pocket bolts. Wiring runs through the tubing. Sorry you can't see the actual bracket, but here is what they look like:
ps: don't tell anyone those are Ford tail lights. |

Thanks so much!! thats what I have been loooking for. Upon closer inspection I also came to the conclusion that it would be pretty easy to fabricate as well. Thanks soo much for the pic. Im glad that someone was able to make sense of what I was trying to say/do.
