Gas Pedal Mod

Bought a gas pedal assembly from a board member out of a 72 and got it in today. I'm comfused on part of it though. The pieces I got are......

Pedal arm
Triangle bracket that mounts to firewall
Cable
Bolts

The one part thats confusing me is the part that bolts to the firewall bracket and holds the pedal in, is a huge metal bracket that seems to go up inder the dash somewhere also. This correct?

Thanks,

Tony

Re: Gas Pedal Mod

Does this thread help any?
I trimmed most of the "bulk" off that "big metal bracket".

Re: Gas Pedal Mod

What year truck? ,The throttles varie from all years. From what i have seen is 72' is cable throttle and 71-earlier is mechanical.Meaning steel rods from pedal to carb. Not saying the cable not is mechanical either.

Yah I went through that thread also. Figure I'll trim the bracket down also.

Re: Gas Pedal Mod

The bracket on mine is even bigger than the one HartRod pictured. Just didnt know if trimming it was ok to do without messing anything up.
