You can use year of manufacture plates here. It's an easy application and a one time fee. It's just like the historical plates. You pay the one time fee and you are registered for life. I had NOS 1971 plates on my Jimmy.
Technically you are only supposed to drive to the gas station, repair shop, parade or car show. I never had a problem but I didn't drive the Jimmy very often.
