Hood bumpers

We are assembling our 65 GMC Truck. Pretty exciting after 10 months of fixing.

Can someone please provide me with some pictures where he hood bumpers are installed? We would really appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Re: Hood bumpers

I can't post any pic’s because I’m in Germany at the moment. But there are 2 pads that are riveted on closer to the front of the hood and then there 2 bump stops that have 2 bolts each on the back inside portion of the hood. The 2 in the back are adjustable to get your gaps set.

Re: Hood bumpers

Here’s what the bumpers look like on my 62-66 hood. By the way your truck looks beautiful:

Anyone know who makes these side bumpers with the rivet holes counter sunk? I bought a set from LMC and they are not.

Re: Hood bumpers

You have to countersink them or they will scratch the paint.I used a dremel and carefully cut it down,

Re: Hood bumpers

I used the small flat drum style grinder bit and then used the drill looking bit.

Ha - I just did it. Looks great and works too.
Thanks LT1 Burb. Too bad you have to do that to make them proper.
