Need help hooking up A/C

I have a 78 Chevy C10 that use to have a diesel. It currently has a small block 350. The diesel had the A/C compressor on the passenger side of the motor and a R4 model compressor. In 78 a small block gas had the compressor on the driver's side and a A6 model compressor. I have a set of brackets from a 80's truck that had the R4 model compressor mounted on the driver's side. The hose for the 80's R4 compressor has different connection on the accumulator and the connection on the condenser is on the other side. What I want to know is can I use the hose for the A6 compressor with the R4 compressor? I would like to figure this out before I invest money into A/C parts and learn the hard way. Thanks for replies.

Re: Need help hooking up A/C

Anyone have a picture of the back of a A6 compressor? Or a picture showing the lines hooking up to a A6 compressor?
