1998 chevy vortec 5.7 4*4

Is idling rough while driving you will feel hesitation under your foot. Had to hold the peddle to the floor so that it wont quit. Turned the motor off and it didnt start backup , so after cooling off the motor. It starts and we made it about 2 or 3 miles and the same thing happened., Please help...we have done all the usual repairs!

I had that happen to me once. It was the fuel pump.

Yep. Check the fuel pressure first. 60# for the Vortecs.
