Are they worth it?

I have chance to pick up this grill, bumper and gauge cluster for $380. Is that a good price?

Re: Are they worth it?

I'm not even sure if they repro. the '62 grill. It looks real cherry. If it was a '63 grill I'd almost give 380 just for that alone!

Re: Are they worth it?

youd be hard pressed to find another grill in that condition for much less. thats without the gauge cluster. if the cluster works then thats a plus. i happen to like the 62 chevy grill, thats a one year only item...but what do i know, im a gmc guy.

Re: Are they worth it?

well in the lmc catalog for the reg. repop chrome bumper goes for the $149 and a premium chrome bumper $189 then you figure in shipping. so say $200 or more...if going premium that means $90 for the grill and $90 for the gauges.....depends if gauges work, and how bad you need/want them.....and the bumper in the pics looks like it doesnt have the bolt holes recessed and looks to be a repop.

Re: Are they worth it?

Heck yeah it's worth it!!! regardless if the bumper is a repop. The grill looks great and it's chrome. Just to chrome plate a grill it's expensive. I have seen grills here locally for up to $450 and painted. Not that he ever got it. But no one makes them. A Gauage cluster in good condition can go from $75.00 to $100. I say go for it if it'swith in your means...

Re: Are they worth it?

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought to myself that it seemed a bit high. Once I saw the grille, I have to say that it's a deal. I'd go for it. 1962 grilles in that shape are very, very uncommon.

Re: Are they worth it?

if you have a 62 would say you will probably never run across a deal like that again.
