Re: What did you get done 7/31/11 edition

I spent 3~4 hours trying to solve a fuel line issue on my truck.

Why is it that working under a truck is not as fun as working in the engine bay or on the outside of the truck?

I guess that it has something to do with all of the crud that falls into your face, the stinging ants, and flying mosquitos.

was hoping one of these would turn up, again, why not make a running "what did you do today." thread and let it ride?

i replaced my drivers side caliper after blowing a stop sign (luckily it was a backwoods deserted stop sign) because one wheel locked up and the other did nothing to help... stops like a champ now

I got my ralleys painted. I need to finish installing the interior trim or finish the flip kit this coming week. Not sure which will get done.

Helped a neighbor take care of some of her yard work, did some of my own, went to the county fair with a buddy and watched the demo derby, spent time with my family, and took some pics of the 75 around town.

The catalytic converter was rattling, so I eliminated it it. The 6 cly with Flowmaster sounds good now.

Worked on my 50....again. LOL

Doors are on, front fenders and grill are mocked up. New aluminum radiator is mounted and plumbed, gauges are in the dash and working.

......and the usual stuff, cut grass and washed the daily drivers.

Re: What did you get done 7/31/11 edition

Sold and delivered the last of my 455 Buick stuff. Now to sell the SBC serp drive and part out the 366 and I'll be down to only L6's and 6.2 diesels.
Drained the pair of BOP TH400's that have been follwoing me around for 20 years, gonna scrap them out.
Hauled my copper, aluminum, and catalytic converter to the yard, got $100 for the pile.
Finallly got the plug out of the oil gallery on the 250, that was the last thing, weight matched the pistons and rods as best as possible, 1.5 gram difference on a 4000 RPM motor should be fine. Most of the difference is in the pistons. Off it will go to get .030, turn crank. Spend 4 hours, 5 cans of oven cleaner, and $6 at the car wash to get the tin merely disgustingly dirty. Wow did it have gunk on inside and outside!
Kids go to band camp this week, maybe I'll get more done.

Re: What did you get done 7/31/11 edition

Repaired my dash lights, the light in my aftermarket tach, my fuel gauge, cigarette lighter, and cleaned up some other wiring issues. I kept pushing my truck around to stay under the shade until I was almost up against my buddies house. Finally, I pulled a 700r4 off of my 1976 G10 SportVan that will be going into my '79 Bonanza. Made great progress.

I worked on my '98 DD. All I did to the '78 was move it in and out of the garage so I could work on the '98 in the shade. All I did to the K5 was walk around it some more.....

Re: What did you get done 7/31/11 edition

attened my 30 year high school reunion this past weekend. 3 day event that unofficialy started on Wednesday with a multi-year reunion party. then Friday from 8-1pm for a school tour. Friday evening at O'malley's on the green (golf club) closed the place down at 4 am Saturday morning. Saturday from noon til 130 pm swimming at the West High Pool. then on to the wacky west games at westchester lagoon park until 5:00 pm. At 8 pm we had our dance party at the Sheraton Hotel. We got kicked out of there around 4 am because people on the 4th and 5th floor were complaining about the noise from the ballroom on the second floor!!! LOL the one last gettogether at another classmates parents house until 11:00 pm last night. Out of a graduating class of 476 back in 81 we had 135 plus their spouses show up Some from as far away as Prague, Qatar, and even Pert, Australia!!!
Did I have fun? HELL YEAH!!!

Still feeling the after effects too.

Went on a 1000 km spur of the moment camping trip. My buddy and I had to sleep in the cab for two nights cause everywhere was full. Going to wash the truck really well after work tomorrow. Ah the perks of being young.
