What's this hole for?
On the passenger side door below the dovetail part, is about 1" diameter hole. I have no clue why it's there, the drivers side does not have one and I can't imagine it being for a drain plug? Anybody else have one of these? I'll have to get a plug of some sort I suppose. I don't remember this being on another door, must get getting old.

Re: What's this hole for?
Both doors have them , my assumption is that it was for factory window adjustment ( quick set with a gauge ) at the assembly line,

Re: What's this hole for?
I think I've seen that before. I'll look on some of my trucks. IIRC there is a silver/grey plastic plug that goes in that hole.

Re: What's this hole for?
I think it's probably for what Rich suggested, something to aid the factory assembly. My 1960 GMC has no such hole in either door. Perhaps mine was an early production model before they figured out how to "improve" the process.

Re: What's this hole for?
It was a maintenance access hole. Here is a link to where you can buy them. Good luck.

Re: What's this hole for?
Since I do not have the hole in the dirivers side, I must have an early DS door and a later year PS door. Some more good information to put in the other post on "What I Know".
Thanks Jake

Re: What's this hole for?
On my truck, the bottom hole has a bolt in it to hold the lower window track in. The other hole has a plastic cap plug in it. (well, it did) i broke it and it fell out while I was investigating. lol.
