Installing after market tach - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Can anyone shed some light on installing an after market tach in the dash where the original would have been installed? Aside from the obvious of cutting the plastic, what needs to be done with the circuit board to allow the tach to be recessed into the bezel?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I had to 'dimple' the metal on the back of my panel, but the circuit board was left untouched.
By dimple I mean smack with a big 'ole hammer.

Sounds like you gave it an attitude ajustment, not a dimple.................

Beat it just a little and try ti assemble it. If it don't fit, tear it down again and beat it some more.
I was unable to get a few of the little bolts on the back after I was done, but you can't tell from the drivers seat.
