GVWR Door Plate
Can a new GVWR door plate be acquired for a 1983 one ton Chevy 4X4 single Rear wheel Pickup? The title says 12000 GVW but I know that is not correct. Would appreciate any help pointing me in the right direction to get one.

Re: GVWR Door Plate
I don't know whether or not that you can replace the actual plate or sticker. The gvwr information can be found on the internet.
A while ago, I found a web site that contains a pdf of the specifications for the 1984 model year trucks. If you send me your email address, I could forward the pdf to you. You could also request the factory information packets, see this site for details: http://www.73-87.com/7387info/7387info_packets.htm

Re: GVWR Door Plate
My 1977 dually is 10,000 gvw. A single tire rear axle in a 4x4 is either 8600 or 9200, iirc.
