Re: Power window motor help

With the window rolled up, remove the door panel then the cross brace that one of your door pull straps mount to ,then remove all the bolts from the regulator then wedge the door glass with something to hold it up or remove it. then work the regulator assembly out of the door the regulator is spring loaded so clamp it in a vise before unbolting the motor then reverse the procedure ....

Re: Power window motor help

You can bend a short piece of metal plumber's pipe strap and hook one end under the glass, bend the other end over the top edge of the door and screw that end to the metal door. You can drill a small hole through the motor frame and regulator and insert a bolt and nut to keep it together, rather than use a vise, especially if you don't have a vise. I went with genuine AC/Delco motors which are available for not much $$ from several oem vendors, like oehq.com, oewarehouse.com, and autopartstomorrow.com. I did get one bad Delco motor, but it was a loose connector on the end of the motor and not the motor itself.
