build thread " 4 by" 68 custom camper 4wd 1/2ton
my dad got this truck in 2001 with no motor, he sent it to his friend his friend put a motor in it and we drove it home. after that we junked the flat bed and bought a fleetside for it. we then got it painted but it never got its clear coat. after that we just used it to move frmom house to house to house and now we are going from a 70 custom/10 4wd to a 68 custom camper 4wd with trim and a 383 engine with disk brakes up front.

this friday im getting a hood after that all he will need is a grille radiator support and a driver side fender

oh an done more thing what color do you guys think i should paint it? blue with white grille and white top with white below the trim. or 50th annv. gold with white grille white top and white below the trim? heres pics only i will hve chrome front and rear bumpers.

well today i went back to get another "E" for the hood i need the one right after "H" i have getten 2 "E"s and either the stud that has the screw is broken now the new one has a goos screw stud but the other stud is broke so i am having a horrible tiem with these little b@$t@rd$!!!

today i have started the process of waxing the hood putting all the letters in and cleaninig them along with trim and i have painted the 67 72 power steering brackets real nice black and the 69 72 altenator brackets real nice black then next step is paint the 383... you guess'd it chverolet orange, and painting the bottom of the hood to

well if more people help me and my dad decide it will go faster paint wise... today i put on a 68 custom cab glovebox door which has the holes for the 67 68 door emblem. (im not stupid enought to mess up a good 70 glove box door lol) so i need the emblem and the 4wd shift indicator steering wheel. i got the altenator brakcets for driver side and the correct power steering brackets and will put it on his new 383 so its all set to go. also got the hood all waxed so it has some shine while its on the truck.. it might be a surface wagon for awhile lol

well i got some more trim clips for the trim i have the driver door and both cabs ready to go on and i need 3 more clips for the passenger side and 2 more for the front driver also got 2 mirrors for the 67 70 mirror style arm

i hope so! well todays progress is: got the engine painted orange got the new water pump on and painted also got the altenator brackets and power steering pump brackets on so now just need an oil filter and we should be good also got the chrysler orange paint for the transfer case

haha sorry john shes gonna be a 68 and i got just about every peice of trim to all but the driver wheel arch on bed! k as for progress.. my dad chicken'd out on swaping front ends and motors.. so not this weekend maybe the bext on.. but we did take the bed off and paint the frame and are replacing the the front bed panel and i got the 68 trim on doors and cab... started building his 68 front end... heres pics. need to take more
