lowering 77 2WD Blazer
First I'm new to the board.
I just bought a 77 2WD Blazer and it factory height with Rally Wheels. I like the wheels and want to lower the truck . Ive heard of spindle and lower control arm rubbing on the 15inch wheels. With that said which is the best spindle to buy with the most drop and least clearance issues. I am going to air bag the truck but I want to get it lower before the bags to start. Any advise or help would be great |

The 'rubbing' issue is a result of back-spacing interfering w/the lip of the lower control arm because the drop spindles bring the 2 areas closer together. Minimize (optimize) back-spacing + trim the lower control arm lip safely, & you'll be good to go.
2.5" spindles usually have fewer issues vs. 3" drop spindles. Welcome to the board....

can you run the Rally wheels with 3inch spinles? How much backspacing do you have to have before the wheels stop rubbing? What is the backspaceing on the Rally wheels?

Yes, ralleys can be used w/3" spindles, it just requires more material to be removed from the control arm lip. I like the 'bigs & littles' look w/steel wheels so I usually use the van ralleys up front (15x6.5") & truck ralleys in the rear (15x8").
Here's my old 74 w/3" Bell Tech spindles. The lower control arms were trimmed several inches on both front & rear of the arms. Jonboy (the new owner) & I are planning to rebuild another set of lowers to swap & will be trimming them the same way....

That is what I want the blazer to look like. Do the 6.5 wide have different back spacing then the others? Did you have to C-notch the rear? I also saw some 10 inch wide rally's Is that a stock size?

The 6.5'' ralley wheels have the same backspacing as the 8" wheels.
(4" backspace) The 15x7 ralley wheels have a 3-5/8" backspace which works better,... but still requires some trimming of the lower control arm. 10" ralleys will be an aftermarket wheel only.

Now to find 3 inch spindles and figure out which wheels I have to see if I need to look for different size rallys.

From my searches, 8" ralleys = easiest to find; 7" ralleys = challenge to find. 10" ralleys do look good w/the right tire height/width & are aftermarket only as stated (wheel vintiques for sure).

Now for the rear.... How much can you lower the rear without having to raise the rear floor and loose the rear seating.
