brakes issue

i know this is probly an easy fix but i thought ide ask here first. i got in my truck the other day after sitting for 2 weeks with the parking brake on and the brake pedal sank almost all the way to the floor. only the last 8th of a push did anything. the truck did stop, but very abruptly and it didnt seem right at all. i only drove down my street about 50 feet. there was no issues when i parked it 2 weeks ago. the truck has manual drum brakes. i would really appreciate any help because i love drivin my chevy!

Re: brakes issue

i would check the master and see how much fluid you have in it, also look around the back of the drums and junction blocks for any fluid leaking from anywhere and make sure all fittings are tight, look around where the master cylinder bolts to the firewall, and also underdash in cab for fluid if master is leaking and needs repair or replaced, id suggest trying to pump the pedal and seeing if it pumps up, sounds like your getting air in the lines somewhere.

Re: brakes issue

For less than $30 at most parts stores, I'd replace it.

Re: brakes issue

in the above post i said to look at back of drums to see if there is any fluid because of wheel cylinders or bleeder screws, sometimes you have to pull the drums and physically see whats going on and if they are leaking inside....
