Did these valve cover emblems really exist? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a collection of advertising material for our trucks for various years and you often see these valve cover emblems designating the CID of the engine. (See picture.) However, I have yet to see one in person or even a picture of one on this board or anywhere else. Did they actaully exist? Has anyeone ever seen one in person or have a good picture of one?

I’m not sure but I think there was some kind of an emblem on the PS side valve cover of my 327 before I cleaned it up. There was some dried-up sticky stuff on the passenger side valve cover.

Classic Industries has various motor emblems available but only the ones that go on the air cleaner as far as I can see. I haven’t looked really close.

I’m just trying to detail my rebuilt 327 up nice to stock.

Hey Tom-
I had a '72 chevy suburban with a sticker on the valve covers similair to that for a 350. They said "Invader 350". I still have the motor but I think the stickers have fallen off. Never owned a 307, did have a 327 but it didn't have any stickers.

I have a set of covers from a late 60's 327 (don't know if it was car or truck) that say "327" on top and "TURBO-FIRE" underneath. The only problem is they have no holes for oil fill or PCV.

Pretty sure those were only on the GMC motors.

I had 327 labels on my 66 engine. Looked pretty much like that.

my brothers original 62 had 327 Turbo fire on the valve covers.

Classic Industries does list valve cover emblems that seem to say just the CID of the engine for late 60's trucks. It's funny that you never seem to see these emblems on unmodified original trucks.

i have 327 valve covers, and they also have a 300 hp sticker

I coulda sworn that what was left of the stickers on my valve covers had a name on them, but I asked here and nobody thought that there were ever those type of decals so I just went ahead and put the "350" ones on like is shown in the picture

I am pretty sure my stock valve covers from the "70 402 had decals too.

I just ordered a couple of "327" decals last night. I just hope they match what's shown in the picture above.

The original ones must be hard to keep stuck on with all the oil on the valve covers and such.

If I remember how to attach a pic, there should be one of my 327 valve covers below. If I remember correctly, these are from a "66 or '67, but don't know for sure if they are from a car or truck. The oil fill was through the intake and there was no PCV system.
