1962 GMC 4x4 Carryall
Just found 1962 GMC 4x4 Carryall/Surburban. 100% original, 1 owner and seems to run well. It has a working PTO winch that I was told is a factory special-order item. The seller is asking $2,500. Any thoughts as to how rare this vehicle is?

Re: 1962 GMC 4x4 Carryall
C'mon Rock! San Berdoo aint that far away! In all seriousness though, that thing is pretty cool. I wish I had room! Lots of cool period correct (or just funky vintage) stuff on that one. I really dig the clamshell back doors and the original seats. Anybody know what the coffee maker looking thing is under the hood on the drivers side? Brake booster? Toilet paper oil filter? Power steering res.?

Re: 1962 GMC 4x4 Carryall
I've got a '72 2500 Super Custom GMC 4X4 that I'd give the fella straight across....and I'd do the drive from Oregon if I thought he'd take the deal....
Here's a shot of me bringin' it home. Swing the deal for me, Zinky.... I need that thing. Somethin might not be quite right in my noggin....

Re: 1962 GMC 4x4 Carryall
Blasted 1-1/2 hrs down to see this thing after work today knowing full well a major project was out of the question (no time or space). I just had to see it. Yep, it's a project, but a worthwhile one in my view. The thing is, it's dry ... very dry. Solid floors, rockers, roof, hood, gate, rear quarters, etc. Front fenders and doors are bubbling a little down low, but I expected that. Passenger side has some damage, but I think the quarter is savable.
Cool one-family history and I even saw some 8mm home movie footage shot back in the day (1960's) with the burb in the background. Front seat upholstery and floor mats are toast, but the second seat and rear mat have held up a bit better. Third seat is gone. This was gramp's fishing/hunting/camping rig so the personal add-ons, and screwed down goodies abound. Took a bunch of pics including a shot with the orig wheels set in front of the recent replacements...Wow, does that help! I mean no disrespect to you guys that live in places where things rust, but I can't see the sense in cutting away half your truck and then patching it back in pieces, when this handsome, manly eraser pink CA black plate 4X needs a new home. Re: 1962 GMC 4x4 Carryall
starts, runs, drives, barely stops. needs at least a complete tune-up. I didn't dare drive it more than half a block, and slowly, due to the poor tune and weak binders. Its been non-op for a while.

No offence taken on the northern comment. Issues of time and expences, more so now, force us to take the long road to get what you guys down south can go to the convienence store to pick up.
