Can't remove a/c compressor?!
Trying to replace the a/c compressor today. Problem is that the 3 bolts holding the comp to the bracket are blocked by the front of the pulley. Any ideas?

Re: Can't remove a/c compressor?!
Bolts slide out forwards. Needing about 1/8" more room.

cut the bolt in half with a grinder and install a new one in the opposite direction.

Re: Can't remove a/c compressor?!
Finally wiggled one out. Used that on the back end of the next one to hammer it through. Last one on the bottom, I had to hammer a flat spot on the pulley (couldn't get the pulley off) and got it out. Install of the new one went easy. Can't reverse the bolts, the heads are notched to fit an edge on the front of the bracket.

Re: Can't remove a/c compressor?!
Those bolts usually have a flat side to the head so you can turn them and just barely wiggle them past the pulley.

Re: Can't remove a/c compressor?!
Yup, that's what I was counting on. Something was just enough outta whack that they wouldn't clear the pulley by about 1/8".
