Re: power disk brakes and manual trans question

Captain Fab's bracket seems to be a popular option. I bought it and it really is a quality piece of gear. You mentioned you bought a 66 and then mention a clutch master cylinder..? Are you adding a hyd release bearing or a slave cylinder for some reason? Note that 66's did not come with slave cylinder - all mechanical clutch linkage (after 62, I believe, but don't quote me).

Here is Capt Fab's bracket: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=347484

Here is an option that includes a slave cyl setup (taint cheap though - and was designed to put power disk brakes on a truck that already had a slave cylinder, like a 62, not like yours): http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...T6062BB28D.htm

Re: power disk brakes and manual trans question

no worries - I went through this drill when I bought a 62, then found the bill o sale to be a fraud, then bought a 66 - so have done some shoppin for both, that's all.

If your truck has a stock brake and clutch setup currently, you have many options for the disk brake upgrade - either kits from CPP, POL, or ECE. Or, you can piece together a setup from stock parts. Here's some links:

Forum disk brake ref thread for piecing it together: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=367260
Here's an ECE tech article: http://www.earlyclassic.com/Tech.asp...20That%20Truck

CPP front disk kit (w/o master cyl and booster): http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...6370SWBK5S.htm

Thanks for the recommend Jocko

Although that link is for the '67-'72 version of the booster bracket.

bo-w, I do have the power brake booster bracket for the '63-'66 trucks, as well as the power steering box adapter. If you decide to convert to a hydraulic clutch, I have that also. The links to each are in my signature line down below \/ \/ \/
