Hey everyone. I just purchased a 79 scottsdale 4x4, 4-speed, A/C, tach, etc... with 64k miles on it. I definitely need a tilt column. I've seen a few on craigslist and i'm gonna check my local pull a part but I thought i would ask here first and give a board member a shot at selling some parts! Let me know what you have. I believe I need a 77-83 column for the correct wiring.

Are you sure you are not looking for a 73-80 column to be correct?

Madcow thats correct. 77-80. I was told up to 83? not sure if thats right. This is my first square body i've messed with so not too sure on what years share the same parts for everything.

Thats 73-80 as the wipers are on the dash and the high beams are on the floor and from 81-87 the wipers and high beams are on the column.

sorry but your wrong they started in 84 with every thing on the colom till 83 the wipers were on the dash and the high beams were are on the floor

I have one from a 78 I think . It needs cleaning and repainting to make it nice. It was in a non running truck when I picked it up but I think it has the keys in it.I would take $125 shipped. PM me if interested.

Thats a great deal on an A Column. I am glad it worked out for you. I have not been able to find my camera but mine is definitely not an A codition column.

AARRRGGGHHH!!!! Well it looks like I"m still on the hunt for a FLOOR SHIFT tilt column. I recieved the one I purchased from auto-recyclers and low and behold its an automatic. Really?? As I called and explained it was clearly not represented correctly on their end, the sales guy preceded to tell me that If I could just remove the pin out of the auto shifter it would then be a "floor shift". I wonder if thats how they do business on a lot of their stuff. NOT COOL!!!!

So If anyone has a REAL 4spd tilt column, please PM me or let me know. I'd like to move fast. Thanks everyone.

they were showing it to be floor shift tilt on there inventory..I would talk to the owner there and they can get you the right one..

mabye there "yard monkey" pulled the wrong one.

I would make them get you the right one..they were wrong and had it inventory'd wrong.

remember the customer is always right..and you did nothing wrong..

you can contact car-part.com and tell them also...they can get kicked off there if them mess us..

I hate to hear that...but they should give you your money back also.

Yes I am getting a refund! I spoke with the yard manager and he said that the truck did have a floor shift in it but it was an automatic. HUH?

After him telling me to just knock the pin out and remove the shifter handle I about came unglued. lol. I understand mishaps and things do happen, just don't try to sell me something wrong and tell me I have to "adapt" it too what I originally wanted. Oh well. The search goes on.

Thanks for the links man. I'll check them out. I might have a couple leads from some board members and I'd rather put some money in their pockets first. This website is sooo cool and it feels like family at times, so is rather support here first.

I havent forgotten about the pics . I just have not found my camera and pics from my sons Droid arent coming through to my email . I am trying. It has the key in it , the tilt is tight , and the column is dirty and well worn . It would need to be cleaned and repainted but it is a manual trans tilt . I will find the camera and get some pics by this weekend if I cant sort out the ones my son forwarded to me .

Hey Frank, I have never seen a tilt column for a floor mtd shifter in a square bodied truck before and I have been around these trucks since the mid 70's. If I was looking for one, I think I would snap yours up in a heartbeat.
If yours is still available, how much do you want for it less the steering wheel and the lower shaft??
