cast iron powerglide

I ran into my first iron powerglide today hooked to a 265 and was wondering if there was any use for it other than scrap metal.
Thanks in advance,
Ray

true but many of them don't want to use them even if a restore. they were dogs and when its restored it still drives like it did back then. I know some restored tri 5 owners with high $ restorations like 60 70,000 cars that changed out to th350's but otherwise its factory. They just saved the original trans case someone wanted it. But i agree not much value

Re: cast iron powerglide

before you scrap it, might want to run numbers on it to find out as much as you can about it (year, etc) - there may be some restoration guy that really really wants it - if no nibbles after that, then plant the tailshaft in the ground and make a bird bath out of it.

Thanks for the responses. I will check the numbers and see if there is any interest.
