Re: neat old chevy

I've seen that truck online before. It has a 4-53T Detroit Diesel with a Ranger torque splitter mounted ahead of an SM465 4 speed. It is a nice truck. I guess back then the dealer did some interesting dealer conversions as they are rumored to be installed by some dealers. For reliability that blows the 6.2 and 6.5 and the 350 Diesels out of the water! Torque but don't expect to get anywhere quick. There are a few guys who are big into these swaps. It's kinda like the old GMC's with the split rears we used to have all over my area. Everything is getting replaced with automatics now though.

Re: neat old chevy

Wow that's pretty neat for sure. Defiantly don't plan on going fast but would be sweet to go cruise in that thing.

Re: neat old chevy

Leave your keys in it. No one can figure out how to drive it so don't worry about someone taking it lol

Re: neat old chevy

if my motor didn't like to rev so quick i would LOVE to have that trans/splitter setup. makes it that much easier to not worry about someone asking to drive! very impressive shifting too by the way!
