home depot peel and stick removal
I used the peel and stick tar based stuff from home depot on the inside of my truck. I want to remove some of them and they stick really well. Does anyone have suggestions on how to remove these more easily?

Re: home depot peel and stick removal
I'd GUESS a heat gun ($10-15 @ Harbor Freight), a few good scrapers and some very rough steel wool for the remnants of goo that stay behind. Why remove it?

Dry ice works very well to remove sound deadening material. Put the ice on the spots you want to remove, let sit, it becomes very brittle and comes off in chunks.

Re: home depot peel and stick removal
I think I will try the dry ice and a good scraper. I have a few pieces I laid down and I want to remove them so I could put down some other stuff down. I will be painting soon also.

Dry ice also works for removing vinyl floor tiles.

Gasoline removes it from drill bits quite nicely, however it is risky due to flash hazard.
I would try mineral spirits first, and the possibly 50/50 mix of acetone and mineral spirits. I bet it will work very well. Proper ventilation, PPE, etc...... |

Re: home depot peel and stick removal
No, its because current vinyl adhesives do not have all the good stuff like they used to. We tell out client to expect some failure after a few years, especially where there are high water tables that drive the water vapor thru the concrete.
