Pawn Shop Find... and Its Modification
Fought a Mexican Fighting Bull on Last Thursday and Sunday Picked up some Spare Cash cause well I won on Thursday and Took Second on Sunday........ SO I went shopping and hit up a Pawn Shop On a Whim and walked out with My New Craftsman Tool Set... Paid $50 for it at a pawn Shop... Its a 200 piece set retails for like $300... Almost Complete... Missing 20ish sockets... The ONLY Flaw I've Seen in the Design of the Box is the Fact that the Drawers Are Held In By Two Plastic Flapping Closures.... SOOOOOOOOOOO in True Customizationers ( yes I do believe I just made that word up... I know its Prolly not right but, HEY it works) I decided (After My Buddy dropped all of the Tools on the Ground once and then I did it AGAIN at the U-pull it lot) to Figure out how to Fix this design flaw.... Enter the Craftsman 19.2 Volt Cordless Drill, a 12inch long 3/8" Auger Bit and some Scrap 3/8" Iron Rod! 1 hole All the Way From the Bottom of the Storage Area Through All Three Drawers and into the Bottom... Insert Rod That was already Bent, then cut to length, and Rounded on both ends (Safety First People LOL) and Ta-Da!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All thats Left is To Build up the Flappers that Hold the Storage Bin on the top, that hold the top lid down beefier so that It doesn't EVER just Fall open again fixed lol

Re: Pawn Shop Find... and Its Modification
Thank the good Lord for Pawn Shops. Most pawn shops have a box of loose sockets and will sell them to you for a dollar or less. Good score on the tool set.

Re: Pawn Shop Find... and Its Modification
I go to the local swap meet for my loose sockets, the pawn shops don't get a lot of name-brand ones in.

Re: Pawn Shop Find... and Its Modification
My mother-in-law bought me that same set. I actually like the box, the little flaps aren't too bad either.

Re: Pawn Shop Find... and Its Modification
That's almnost a stock fix.Craftsman used to use a flat steel bar down the front of some if their boxes to secure the drawers.Great score.
BTW,You must still be a younker if you're fighting Mexican Bulls and winning.Keep in mind that though it doesn't hurt you now that it will later(even though you won).
