Astro Van center caps on truck rally wheels? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Anyone running Astro van centers on their truck rally wheels? They're 5x5 right? Any pictures?

I am running 6.5" rallys on the front now and the original truck rally centers are too tall. Will the Astro centers work? How do they bolt on.. or will they?

Here is my 72 i sold few months back. Running 7s and 8s. I bought some 1/2 rh special lugnuts to hold cap on. Just like the 88-98 chevy trucks, but not metric threads.

I have bought them from different places. I get them from my buddy that goes to swap meets, he has a wheel business in Dallas tx area. I you cant find him i can get you his number. He ships stuff daily. I have bought these in 7/16, 1/2, and 9/16 for 3/4 ton.

If you look for older style versions they simply snug around your lugnuts. I have a black set hanging in my garage that was on my 76. I will look for a pic...it was prior to the digital age so it might take a while.

I'm runnin the 88-98 truck caps on my 6-lug rallys. I got my dual threaded lugs nuts of ebay. The seller I got mine from even has the chrome plastic lug covers to replace the black ones on the center caps. They even have package deals with the lug nuts and covers if you want. There's other sellers on there that have them too, just had good luck with this seller and thought I would mention it. Those Astro caps look good on rallys, too bad the don't make a 6-lug version.

I never knew there were that many variations on the Astro vans. Wow. STP67-72, what year van are yours from? I like them all, now I can't decide which to buy.

Maybe a dumb question, but my truck is at my dad's house. Would my lugs be 1/2" ? They whould be just whatever is stock. I don't have any special studs or anything. Just buy 1/2 OEM style lugs? Thanks

1/2 inch is correct. However, I would buy the caps you plan use first and then the lugs. Reason I say is because the lugs are available in two sizes normally, 7/8" or 3/4". If you have the caps in hand, you can measure the plasctic lug covers to verify lug size needed.

The caps that i have are the astro van caps. The others are from trucks. Not sure what year they are. 7/16 are for most 6 lug trucks, 1/2 inch are from 71-about 87 2wd trucks, and 9/16 are for 3/4 ton trucks. Then you go to metric nuts, which is what the astro van has. They will not work. Just picture the nuts having threads inside like normal and threads on the outside of the nut so that the plastic nuts screw on and hold the caps on. Some tire shops can help, or look online for them. If you need to, i will give you my buddys number. He will ship. He probably has all of it.

I took a set off of a 90-sumthin Saturn and they fit along with the plastic caps to go on them. F-R-E-E from the pick-a-part when I bought the wiper motor for my 63 stepper. Hey, I was curious if they would fit and it panned out. It's all GM, right? DON'T JUDGE ME!!!

Measure the stud on your wheel to get the correct size and thread lugnut to buy. I have 2003 centers and wheels on my C20. My lugnuts came from LugnutKing on e-bay. I had 2 by a 2nd set when I changed to newer Dana 60 with bigger studs.Came from same source. Never saw the crome plastic lug covers though. They look nice.
