Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

Went to the Home Depot recently. I parked my truck with PLENTY of space on both sides. So I go in and do my thing, Come out, to put my materials into my truck. Just as I get the cart to were my truck is...I litterally watched some lady whip her door open into the side of my truck. I was so PO'ed and made a comment to her that I hope she did more damage to he POS Ford and let her know that I was kinda protective about my truck (not in those words) I shook My head the whole way home. Thank God its a driver and the ding in my trim is just another charecter mark.

I agree. Hardly any one on the roads have respect for other people's property any more. Sorry to hear about your truck.

Re: Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

Had the same thing happen to my wifes car ....the first day we had it. Man that's annoying. These are the same people that treat there car a a garbage disposal...and never even bother taking care of it or washing it. I could have tried to do and insurance thing....but to me that's why our insurance premium's are so high...so did'nt want to be a hippocryt.

Now I know why my Mom parked her 76 Elderado 5 miles away from the supermarket.

Get used to it!

When I had my 55, I would park way out of the way. I never split spaces, or parked crooked, just normal. When I would come out of the store, every space around my poor truck was taken.

Re: Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

Worse yet! Not a month ago I pulled into a auto zone to buy wipers and came out to my work car SIDESWIPED. Went back into the store ....because there was only one other customer when I walked in....and said did the person just in here use a card? They said they couldn't tell me...OK...do you have security cameras? They couldn't tell me ( they didn't) so I called the cops...they got the same answers....long story short I fixed the side of my car. It's just total B.S.

It is this subject here that steams my clams. For years I drove a 2000 blazer to work didnt care one bit about it so I would park any place I wanted to. Never got a scratch or door ding. I buy a 07 p/u park a guzillon mile's out from the front door and I get a scratch first week. I see the car parked next to me and look at the scratch and see it was from that car. Oh dear I say to myself as I pull out my keys and ooopppps Like he or she would care anyway but it was a big one and deep, I saw bare metal when I got done.

I'd be out with my Camera Phone taking a picture of her license plate and telling her to wait there while I call the POLICE!!!

On a related note....
I bought my Wife a 2011 Camaro for here BD last year.
We took it out to our Favorite B & B on the Coast.
3 Days old and less than 500 Miles on it, and an employee backed into it,
in the Parking lot.
Hit the Passenger front Facia, Fender.
2 Months in the Body Shop and $5004.00 later it was fixed.
Oh Hell yea we got our weekend room free, but the saddest part was this place we'd gone to for over 10 years, and now my Wife can't go back there because of the accident (and the Memories associated with it)!

Re: Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

There's a lot of freedom in driving a beater (doesn't mean I wouldn't have been tweaked).

My brother keeps telling me that the paint on my '67 is coming out too good - I won't be able to drive it. He's right to a certain point - I won't be going to the grocery store parking lot in it...

Too bad my grandmother wasn't there. She'd flog em out good as she would say. She loved cars and protected hers by parking further from the buildings too. Once she saw a young couple loading their car and when finished just give the basket a big shove and let it go. It stopped real close to another vehicle. Flew all over my gm. She went up and gave them what for. Disrespectfull and lack of concern for others and their properties. When she was done they were very apologetic and she stood there until they were gone. She didn't have a clue who that car belonged to but it didn't matter.

Re: Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

well, my truck is primer and rust, so when I drive it to the store, I mess w/ people when they get in or out of their vehicle parked next to me. I tell them "watch the paint". they look at me like i've lost my mind, as I'm dying laughing.

Re: Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

Many years ago I was driving one of my beater p/u ' s when I pulled into a parking space and a nice big caddy pulled in next to ,the woman whipped open her door and it hit my truck with me still sitting in it, I said excuse me you just hit my truck, her response was it's just a truck ! My response caught her by surprise when I threw open the passenger side door as fast as I could and told no worries it's just a caddilac!

Re: Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

When we did the Local Car Shows we needed a Beater Car for following the show vehicl to the show. We bought an 84 Yugo with. a54cc engine in it. No radio Manual Tranny. We bought it for $250.00. When we were done with it we detailed it ourselves and sld it for $500.00! That thing was great. NEVER locked it and alwas left the windows downM

2 words: Power Park.

Don't you hate it when someone does that and they're taking 2 spaces close to the entrance? Now, when they do it and have to walk as far as anyone would possibly have to walk, does it still make you angry?

Re: Thank God! my trucks a driver!!

A couple of years ago my wife and I got one of our trucks painted. It was about three days fresh, and we were parked at the store parking lot, and someone whips in beside us with a little toyota or honda or something, throws the door open and puts a sizeable ding in the fresh paint on the passenger side. My wife jumps out and starts laying into the guy, but he just shrugged his shoulders and walked into the store. I thought my wife was going to put her foot through one of his side windows.
